Hello fellas! I am going to talk about another topic about home ideas because it will never be boring and always interesting. Today’s topic will be very interesting since the house we are going to talk about this time is a wood-clad house. Wanna know more about it? Let’s go down and have a look at it.

A family house which shows the picturesque Japanese landscape was built by the hands of a collaboration between Japanese architects Hiroto Kawaguchi and Kohei Yukawa. In constructing this house, there several goals that should be concerned. Firstly, the architects should create three different spaces; they are the parent’s house, the children’s house, and what they called ‘everyone’s house.’ The central space of the house is built to be open for everyone, while both the parents’ house and the children’s house are kept to be open and connected.

Secondly, the house is aimed to provide the views of the clear blue skies as well as the cherry blossom trees around the house. As a result, what is called Newtown was born. Newtown is a residence that brings the sense of ‘living in the landscape’ due to the surrounding series of house-like volumes. The ‘Everyone’s house’ is a continuous space that both inside and out connects each other. This space has various floors with its different meanings to each level. The hallway is a continuous room that can be used as a playground for children, study room for family, or living room. Such a multifunctional space it is.

The decor inside the house is done in Japanese minimalist style, which has been already become traditional for this country. Light colored wood covers most of the spaces of this house. There is also some upholstered furniture, but not so many. Such a clean interior is a great idea because it will not distract the attention from the landscape and the communication among the people inside the house.

You will find the inclined wooden ceiling in every space you enter. It is made continuous to make the human area and the scaled out volume can coexist. The slope of the ceiling is linked to the outside area through the balcony. That kind idea lets the residents experience the mountain ranges on the east and Newtown in the west. The architect created a new relationship between the people and the landscape by smartly rearrange and thoughtfully reconstruct the space.
